A heartwarming memoir of a kind-hearted dormitory manager, Ms. Zhang, and her impact on a student's life. This story highlights the profound influence of non-traditional educators and the lasting lessons learned in everyday interactions.

Years ago, I made a resolution to write an article about one of my teachers. This teacher wasn't a traditional educator teaching academic subjects, but rather an ordinary dormitory manager—Ms. Zhang Ai.
Ms. Zhang came from Inner Mongolia and spoke with a thick dialect. She was tall and always wore a thick down jacket, with a simple smile on her face. Although her educational background might not have been high, her attitude towards students was full of wisdom and warmth.
Once, while organizing my books, I found an old note that read: "Bed 3, please fold your blanket neatly, I'm only telling you this because you're a good kid." These simple words contained Ms. Zhang's care and expectations. She guided us not with harsh criticism, but with gentle encouragement.
Ms. Zhang's kindness was evident in the little things of daily life. She thoughtfully looked after our routines, gently reminding us to rest early before exams. During room inspections, if she found a student already asleep, she would quietly leave without disturbing them. These details, though seemingly insignificant at the time, were what made our dormitory life warm and comfortable.
On the day I was about to leave for summer vacation, Ms. Zhang stopped me and told me she was returning to her hometown and might not come back. At that moment, I felt a sense of loss. Her final advice was for me to continue maintaining good habits. We didn't exchange any contact information, just a simple goodbye.
Looking back now, I realize that Ms. Zhang taught me not just how to keep my living space tidy, but also how to treat others with kindness and patience. Her unpretentious nature gave us a sense of home. This memory is a warm hue in the canvas of my youth and a precious treasure on my path of growth.
